CONTOUR 01

Place and source context

The opening layers locate the story broadly in the Dalefield and Queenstown District context. Groundwater, weather, land, environmental permissions and protected works can all sit upstream of a familiar household fixture, but the app's contour imagery is an editorial metaphor rather than a mapped source or hydrogeological model.

Testing, abstraction, treatment and source-risk decisions require current evidence and qualified authority. A household can support the wider system through purposeful use and clear communication without approaching source infrastructure.

CONTOUR 02

Protected works and distribution

Bores, pumps, electricity, controls, buried lines and service areas are not public learning stations. Rillmark excludes exact locations, layouts, access details, operating settings, lock information and step-by-step instructions for precisely that reason.

Distribution can cross several responsibility boundaries before reaching private plumbing. The app cannot identify asset ownership by appearance, authorize a valve action or decide who must repair a line. The current operator, property owner or qualified professional must establish responsibility.

CONTOUR 03

Household stewardship at the visible end

At taps, appliances, bathrooms and gardens, ordinary choices can reduce avoidable demand and make changes easier to describe. Observation is useful when it stays separate from diagnosis: appearance, sound, flow or damp ground alone cannot prove a cause or water quality.

The final layer is a repeatable pattern—use water purposefully, keep a practical reserve, read each current notice completely, avoid hazardous or unauthorized work, and hand uncertainty to the right person.
